Caron’s mission is to provide lifesaving treatment to all who need it for years and years to come. As we continue to grow, our endowment fund ensures that this mission will remain a reality.

Built on the generosity of alumni and friends, Caron’s endowment generates predictable, reliable income that guarantees long-term financial health and assists individuals and families with financial needs. The endowment also helps nurture the organization by funding projects amidst all economic circumstances.

As part of our endowment program, Caron gives individuals and groups the opportunity to create named endowed funds in honor or memory of an individual or family. Named funds are meaningful commemorations that bring about real change for good.

Named Patient Scholarships

James Abernathy Endowed Scholarship Fund

The James Abernathy Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 2020 in loving memory by family and friends. Jim’s devotion to recovery and helping individual’s receive treatment will continue through this legacy.

Neil Lasher Endowed Scholarship and Music Fund

Established in loving memory in 2020, the Neil Lasher Endowed Scholarship and Music Fund will support musicians in need of treatment as well as promote music activity while patients are in treatment

Access to Care Scholarship Fund

For over 60 years, Caron has dedicated efforts to increase access and care for those individuals who cannot afford treatment. As part of a commitment to equality and increasing access to care, Caron has established the Access to Care Scholarship Fund which will help minority families receive quality treatment and care for substance use disorder.

James Billerbeck Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established in 1997 in loving memory of James Billerbeck by his family and friends, this endowment provides general scholarship support to individuals in need of treatment.

Breakthrough Alumni Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established in 2011 with an initial gift of $50,000 from the Harvey Goodstein Foundation, this scholarship aid for the Breakthrough at Caron program is currently funded by alumni and friends.

Harris Brodie Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established to honor Harris Brodie by his parents. This fund will benefit individuals and families in need of scholarship assistance for treatment at Caron.

Steven C. Calicchio Endowed Fund for Music and the Creative…

This fund in memory of Steven C. Calicchio supports programs in music and the creative arts, vital components of treatment, at Caron Treatment Centers nationwide.

Caron Renaissance Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established with the anonymous gift from a grateful family, this fund supports scholarship assistance for families at Caron Renaissance.

Renaissance Endowment for Family Programs

Established in 2011 with a challenge grant from an anonymous donor, this fund support family programs at Caron Renaissance.

Richard J. Casey, Jr. Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established to support families for treatment at both Caron Pennsylvania and Caron Renaissance in memory of Richard J. Casey, Jr.

Kevin Phillip Cutler Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established to remember, honor, and build a legacy in memory of Kevin Cutler. This fund will help provide support for our adolescent and young adult male patients.

Anthony Dimick Endowed Fund

Established through a bequest intention, this fund will support scholarships for people interested in improving themselves through attending Caron’s Breakthrough Program.

Dodds Family Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Dodds Family established this fund to support scholarship assistance for adolescent and young adult patients at Caron.

Duffy Family Endowed Scholarship Fund

This fund was established to provide financial assistance to individuals and families from the greater Philadelphia area.

Eddie’s Gift Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established in memory of “Eddie” by his loving family. This fund will provide scholarship assistance to families from Berks County in need of Caron’s services.

Education Endowment for Community Education Projects

This endowed fund was established to provide sustainable funding for Caron’s Education department and its related programs.

John J. Flannery Endowed Scholarship Fund

This fund provides scholarships for those in need of treatment while honoring the memory of John J. Flannery, a man who played an integral role in the formation of Caron.

First Responders Program Fund

This fund supports scholarships of First Responders and provides support of the First Responders Program at Caron.

Forst Family Endowed Scholarship Fund

This fund is established to enroll patients as they transition from primary treatment at Caron or another reputable residential treatment organization into the My First Year of Recovery Program.

The Fraternal Order of Police Endowed Scholarship Fund

An endowed fund to provide scholarships in perpetuity for members of the Fraternal Order of Police and their family who are seeking treatment of alcohol and other substance use disorders at Caron.

Geoff Kofke Scholarship Fund

Established in loving memory of our son, brother, father, uncle, and friend to provide hope and treatment to Berks Countians seeking recovery from addiction.

Bethany R. Granata Endowed Scholarship Fund

This scholarship was established in 2011 in loving memory of Bethany R. Granata to fund treatment for adolescents and young adults from Western Pennsylvania.

Grauer Family Scholarship Fund

Established by Laura and Peter Grauer, this fund provides access to treatment and special programs for families in need at Caron Renaissance.

Gregg R. Grossman Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established in loving memory of Gregg R. Grossman, this scholarship is currently being funded through gifts from family and friends as a symbol of Gregg's wish to help others in need of recovery.

Gregg R. Grossman Scholarship & Special Programs Fund

This fund is being utilized to help adolescent and young adult families from the Greater New York Region in need of residential treatment at one of Caron’s facilities.

Adam and Ben Hock Scholarship Fund

This scholarship fund, established through a bequest in loving memory of Adam and Ben Hock, will provide financial assistance to adolescents and young adults seeking treatment at Caron.

Justin Boyd Howard Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established in 2010 in loving memory of Justin Boyd Howard, this endowed scholarship fund will support scholarship aid to families seeking treatment in the Young Adult Male program.

Rev. William J. 'Father Bill' Hultberg Endowed Scholarship…

Established by the Caron Board of Directors in 2001 to commemorate Father Bill’s 70th birthday, his family, and friends, this scholarship provides scholarship aid to individuals who are seeking treatment. Additional gifts are made to the scholarship each year to celebrate Father Bill's birthday.

I’ll Watch Over You Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established in memory of a beloved nephew, son and brother, to provide financial assistance to either enter or complete prescribed residential treatment at Caron.

Richard D. Kelley Endowed Scholarship Fund

This fund was established in memory of Richard Kelley by Caron’s Board of Trustees, his family, and friends. Funds from the Annual Richard Kelley Golf Tournament help to grow this scholarship each year.

Ann Marie and McKaye Kelly Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established in 2008 by Michael Kelly in memory of his sister, Ann Marie, and as a tribute to his daughter, McKaye, this fund provides scholarship aid for adolescent females.

Nicholas D. Klarsfeld Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established in memory of Nicholas D. Klarsfeld, the fund offers hope for families seeking treatment in Caron’s Young Adult Program and at Caron Renaissance

Charles A. Leeds, Jr. Endowed Scholarship Fund

Funded in 2002 by Susan Bridges, her children and friends and family in memory of her husband, Charles A. Leeds, Jr., this endowment provides general scholarship aid each year to individuals in need of treatment

Legal Professional Training and Promotion Fund

This fund supports staff professional development related to the Legal Professional’s Program as well as program promotion.

Leibowitz Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established in 2005, this endowment provides general scholarship support each year to families in need of treatment.

Werner Maeder Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established in 2011 through a bequest intention, the Werner Maeder Endowed Scholarship fund is designated for individuals whose primary addiction is alcohol.

Ellen and Christopher Maguire Scholarship Fund

Established to support families for treatment at Caron with preference given to young adults from the Greater Philadelphia area.

Sam and Kay McCullough Family Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established in 2015 with an initial gift, this fund will be fully funded through a generous bequest intention and will support scholarships for families of low to moderate income in need of treatment and care for addiction at Caron.

Geoffery McKernan Endowed Recovery Care Services Fund

Supports Caron’s Recovery Care Services to help assure sustained recovery and healing for patients and families.

Miller-Skibbie Family Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established with an initial gift in 2008, this scholarship fund will support scholarship aid for individuals from the Greater Washington D.C. and Hartford, CT Regions.

Moffatt Family Scholarship Fund

Contributes to the support of family programs at Caron Renaissance in Florida.

MTS Fund

Supports Neurofeedback Therapy and LGBTQ Initiatives at Caron through both scholarship assistance and programmatic support.

Martin E. Mulhern Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established in December 2006 by Martin Mulhern’s parents to honor his memory, this endowment provides general scholarship aid each year to individuals in need of treatment.

Neag Family Endowed Scholarship Fund

Made possible through the generosity of the Carole and Ray Neag, this scholarship was established in December 2011 to provide scholarship support for patients who need treatment.

Vivian E. Niceley Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established in the fall of 2007 by her husband and daughters in memory of Vivian E. Niceley, this fund provides scholarship aid to women seeking relapse treatment.

Nic Pagano LGBTQ Scholarship Fund

Caron has partnered with the Release Recovery Foundation to create the Nic Pagano Scholarship Fund. This Caron treatment scholarship aims to improve access to care for the LGBTQIA+ community.

Nikki Perlow Scholarship Fund

Established by her family, in loving memory of Nikki Perlow, this fund provides financial assistance to young adult women patients at Caron.

Ramonas Family Spirituality Endowed Fund

Supports and strengthens families through the yearly Ramonas Spirituality Retreat at Caron in Pennsylvania.

Patrick E. Rogers Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established in memory of Patrick E. Rogers, this fund promises treatment through scholarships for adolescents in need of help.

Arlene and Michael Rosen Fund for Veterans

Provides support for veterans to participate in the Veterans Healing through Healthy Connection Program.

Ed Satell Family Endowed Chair for Children and Adolescent…

This endowed chair established by Ed Satell funds education programs for children and adolescents as well as special initiatives for Jewish Recovery Programs.

Dominick R. Scalera Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established through a bequest intention, this fund will provide treatment scholarships for families in need with a preference to young adult males.

Dr. Mary Ann Scheuhing Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established through a bequest intention, this fund will honor the legacy of Dr. Mary Ann Scheuhing and will help women seeking treatment for alcohol and drug addiction.

The Carlynn and Lawrence Silverman Family Foundation…

Provides support for families from the Greater Washington D.C. region that need lifesaving care and treatment at Caron.

Ivan Small Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established in 2001 in loving memory of Ivan Small by his family and friends, this named endowed fund provides scholarship aid for residents of Maine to attend the Breakthrough at Caron program.

Frederick Allen Smith Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established in December 1999 by the Andryc family in loving memory of their uncle, Frederick Allen Smith, this endowment provides general scholarship aid each year to individuals seeking to attend the Breakthrough at Caron program.

Subak Family Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established in January 2008 by the Subak Family, this endowment provides general scholarship aid each year to individuals in need of treatment.

Taylor Family Endowed Scholarship Fund

Benefits families with lifesaving treatment at Caron from selected counties in the state of New York.

Tiagwad Family Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established to provide scholarships for Recovery Care Services such as Caron’s My First Year of Recovery Program.

Matthew Versagli Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established in memory of Matthew by an anonymous donor, this scholarship fund supports treatment for individuals in need of treatment services at Caron.

Suzanne Voisin Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established in 1989 by Suzanne Voisin-Wickham, this endowed scholarship fund is to be used for individuals from Titusville and Western Pennsylvania who are seeking to attend the Breakthrough at Caron program.

John and Sandra Taylor Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established in 2007, this endowed scholarship fund provides scholarship aid to individuals in need of treatment from selected counties in New York.

The von Seldeneck Family Scholarship Fund

Established to help families receive support from the life saving and life changing care at Caron Treatment Centers.

Wall Family Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established in December 2011 by the Wall family, this endowed scholarship fund provides scholarship aid for individuals who meet the criteria for Caron’s Relapse Unit.

Zelnick Family Endowed Scholarship Fund

This fund was established with the intent to help young men between the ages of 18 and 25 receive treatment and care for addiction.

Ziff Family Endowed Fund for Breakthrough

Established in January 2008 by the Ziff family, the income from this endowment is designated for operational expenses for the Breakthrough at Caron program.

Caron is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization that relies heavily on the support of generous alumni, family and friends. All donations to Caron are tax deductible to the full extent of the law, as no goods or services were provided in consideration of your gift.
