Self-Care is More Important than Ever for Women During the COVID-19 Quarantine

The COVID-19 quarantine orders have put women under even greater stress than before. If you feel overwhelmed working from home and homeschooling the kids, all while cooking, cleaning, handling grocery runs and more, you are not alone. Millions of women feel the same way. These are extraordinary circumstances with simple things like buying toilet paper now herculean tasks.

I sat down a few weeks ago for an on-camera interview with Julie Parise about how important it is for women to prioritize ourselves. With even less time now to focus on self-care, it is even more crucial to find healthy strategies to support our well-being.

We tend to think about self-care as something that happens at the end of the day after everyone else’s needs have been met. But it is actually important for us to take steps throughout the day to support our wellness. Whether it is 10 minutes in the morning to meditate or stretch, or closing your eyes and taking a deep breath before moving on to the next task, small things can do wonders.

Be kind to yourself. You are doing the best you can in difficult circumstances.
