We are here to help those who create music access addiction treatment when they need it.

The Neil Lasher Music Fund, initiated by Neil’s life partner, Jill Jordon, and administered by Caron, provides financial assistance for drug and alcohol recovery treatment for musicians, their families, and others in the music industry.

Who we serve:

Musicians and others in the music industry and their families. Including: musicians, singer/songwriters, engineers, stagehands, managers, producers, promoters, tour personnel, A&R, agents, publishers, labels, music streaming services, music media and others attached to the industry.

The Neil Lasher Music Fund at Caron Treatment Centers was established in honor of music and recovery legend Neil Lasher who died in April 2020 from complications due to coronavirus. The Fund, initiated by Neil’s life partner, Jill Jordon, and administered by Caron, provides financial assistance for drug and alcohol recovery treatment for musicians, their families, and others in the music industry. The Fund also supports the integration of music therapy into treatment through the creation of music studios and the support of certified music therapists on Caron’s campuses.

A veteran record label and music publishing executive, Neil Lasher dedicated his life to music and recovery. He thrived in what he loved doing most – giving back and helping others. The positive results of his tireless, selfless commitment to making a difference and improving the lives of people in need are immeasurable. In addition to his music career, Neil was a certified alcoholism and substance abuse counselor and worked closely with both Caron and MusiCares, an organization that provides a safety net of critical assistance for music people in times of need.

Neil’s connection with Caron ran deep. He served on the Caron NY Advisory Board from 2007 – 2012 and he co-chaired the Caron NY Annual Gala from 2012 – 2019, helping to raise millions of dollars for Caron financial assistance. Neil lived a sober life for 32 years. In his capacity as a counselor and a friend, he was a lifeline to countless people struggling with addiction in the music community, many of whom he directed to affordable treatment.

THREE WAYS TO PARTICIPATE:

• Refer someone who needs help and let others know about the scholarships
• Support continuous available help by contributing to the Scholarship Fund
• Enhance music therapy for those in treatment by contributing to the Endowment Fund

Suggested donation Levels:

• Underwriter - $100,000 + endowment contributions will support the engagement of a certified music therapist and help to endow the position in perpetuity.
• Benefactor - $50,000
• Patron - $25,000
• Friend - $10,000
• Supporter - $5,000

Donors at the above levels will be acknowledged on the website, listed on a recognition plaque in the studios, and invites to Neil Lasher Music Fund events throughout the year.
