Program Highlights

Our Florida-based Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programs build on Caron’s transformative, evidence-based treatment. Guided by expert, empathetic therapists, you will integrate treatment insights and growth with recovery principles and a measure of independence that allows you to practice those principles in real-life settings.


The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) supports individuals who have been recently discharged from an inpatient or detox setting or an individual who is struggling in a lower level of care and needs more structure and a variable length of stay.


The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is the next step toward life in recovery. It offers less intensive support for patients ready to step down from a PHP at Caron.


Thanks to recent partnerships with insurance companies in Florida, these outpatient programs are now available to more patients and their families.

Treatment Program Details

An experienced team of master’s-level therapists and supervisors, many with specializations and credentials in evidence-based practices and treatment modalities like dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), use a trauma-informed treatment approach in their work with PHP and IOP patients.

PHP Treatment Services

  • Detox as medically necessary at The Keele Center, Caron’s state-of-the-art medical center
  • Core counseling and psychoeducation groups dealing with co-occurring disorders, trauma, return-to-use prevention, coping skills, mindfulness-based stress reduction, life skills, and other issues as needed
  • Weekly individual therapy
  • Monitoring and/or random urinalysis
  • Spiritual and family counseling as clinically indicated
  • Caron 12-step meeting and access to local recovery support meetings, including LGBTQIA+

IOP Treatment Services

  • Core counseling and psychoeducation groups dealing with return-to-use prevention, coping skills, mindfulness-based stress reduction, and other issues as needed
  • Weekly individual therapy
  • Monitoring and/or random urinalysis
  • Spiritual and family counseling as clinically indicated
  • Caron 12-step meeting and access to local recovery support meetings, including LGBTQIA+

Family Treatment

Your family also benefits from treatment through a family education program about substance use disorders, treatment, and recovery. A full-time family therapist dedicated to the outpatient programs leads the program, which includes information about setting effective boundaries and developing healthy communication and coping skills. The half-day program is available in person or virtually.

  • Gender-specific apartment housing in a complex that includes a pool
  • On-site recovery advocates 24 hours a day/seven days a week
  • Access to cell phones and laptops
  • Shared bedrooms with adjoining bathrooms
  • Outfitted kitchens with cookware, dishes, and utensils
  • Access to washers and dryers
  • Transportation to and from treatment rooms at the Keele Center

IOP

  • Free time to search for jobs or work while in treatment and prepare to return to their home communities
  • Personal cars allowed for work, shopping, and errands
