Dr. Adam Demner joined Caron in 2024 as the addiction psychiatrist for Caron Florida. In this role, he assesses incoming patients to determine their treatment needs and priorities. He also prescribes and supervises patient medications. He serves as a consultant for the clinical teams and meets with patients as needed during their treatment.
Prior to coming to Caron, Dr. Demner was an assistant professor in the Department of Integrated Medical Science and served for four years as the director of addiction psychiatry for the Psychiatry Residency Training Program at the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton.
Dr. Demner has also served as the coordinator of psychiatric services at the Opioid Addiction Treatment Program; unit chief and medical director of the Chemical Dependency Outpatient Program; and the site director for the Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship at Bellevue Hospital.
He has a Doctor of Medicine from the New York Medical College, Valhalla, and a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiological Sciences from the University of Florida, Gainesville. Dr. Demner completed his residency at the New York Presbyterian Hospital Psychiatry Residency Training Program and served as chief resident in the Psychiatry Department. He completed his fellowship in addiction psychiatry at New York University/Bellevue Hospital.
Dr. Demner is board-certified in general psychiatry and addiction psychiatry and is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry.
