Carla Newman is a regional resource director for Florida.
She connects people to life-saving resources and recommends services and treatment to communities throughout Florida. She assists individuals, families, and referents in finding substance use disorder and mental health treatment.
Carla represents Caron and advocates for substance use disorder and mental health treatment by cultivating relationships with therapists, healthcare practitioners, and others. She hosts visits to Caron facilities, helps with special events at Caron, and attends networking events to promote Caron’s mission and expertise.
Before coming to Caron in 2024, Carla worked in similar roles at behavioral health hospitals in Arizona and Florida for nine years. She acquainted individuals, families, healthcare practitioners, and others with available behavioral health and substance use disorder resources and provided educational programming on behavioral health issues. She has experience with and enjoys helping older adults and their families find resources.
She has a Master of Social Work and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, both from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
