Dr. Cayla Bailey

As a post-doctoral psychology fellow, Dr. Bailey works as a staff psychologist, providing mental health and substance use disorder treatment, including giving diagnostic clarity regarding mental health issues.

She works with patients across Caron’s inpatient treatment programs and partial hospitalization program (PHP) and supports Caron’s LGBTQIA+ programming. She provides trauma-informed care in individual therapy and in facilitating group therapy. Her goal is to help her patients understand how adverse experiences affect substance use and relapse patterns and envision their lives in early recovery, including what they will need to sustain sobriety.

Dr. Bailey's approach to treatment is founded on empathy and validation, looking at each patient holistically, including diversity factors, personal attributes, and developmental patterns. Showing up as an authentic person for her patients enables them to do the same, allowing Dr. Bailey to support them in understanding how pain has impacted their lives and that they are worthy of a healthy life in recovery.

Prior to beginning her fellowship in July 2024, she interned at Caron as part of her Doctor of Psychology program. Before her Caron internship, Dr. Bailey worked in other externships at community mental health centers and private agencies treating addiction and other mental health difficulties.

Dr. Bailey has a Doctor of Psychology from Chestnut Hill College, Philadelphia, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Rutgers University, The State University of New Jersey, Newark.
