Jo Ann M. Derr

As the Administrative Director of Medical Services and Education, Jo Ann Derr provides administrative support to the medical director and head of psychiatry as well as the associate medical director. She also manages the operations and fiscal responsibilities of the Medical Department and Psychiatric Services and serves as the Addiction Medicine Fellowship Program Coordinator.

Jo Ann came to Caron in 2002 as the coordinator of medical services, a position she held for 20 years. Her current role is a continuation of that work, giving her the opportunity to enhance the Addiction Medicine Fellowship Program.

Prior to coming to Caron, she worked as a medical administrator in doctors' offices, clinics, and home health care for many years, experience she brought with her to Caron and continues to rely upon. Jo Ann is a registered medical assistant. She has a Bachelor of Arts in advanced professional studies from Alvernia University, Reading, Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and organizational behavior also from Alvernia. She also has an associate’s degree in business administration in medical office management.

Working with the department’s medical leaders, I provide a cohesive environment for nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians, and others in the department to ensure comprehensive medical care.”
