As a continuing care specialist, Kellsey Hatt educates patients about the importance of after-treatment support as they create a foundation for a lasting recovery.
To do this, she guides patients in setting up their first steps in recovery, helping them identify continuing care options after treatment and decide what works best for them identify continuing care options after treatment and decide what works best for them and their families. She also assists patients with making calls and is an active part of their recovery process. She calls on therapeutic techniques such as motivational interviewing to find out what her patients’ goals are for their next steps so she can align those goals with the clinical recommendations.
Kellsey maintains her knowledge of continuing care options by building and maintaining relationships with other treatment centers and programs. She also works with Caron’s regional resource directors to find out about continuing care options in their regions so she can help patients find options in or near their homes. She also has built a resource of materials and information about recovery that she can share with patients.
Before taking on her current position in 2020, Kellsey was part of the clinical assessment screening team, helping to determine if Caron was the right fit for patients or if another facility would be the better resource. She came to Caron as an admissions specialist at Caron in 2014, and stayed in that position for three years.
She is a certified allied addiction practitioner with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work with a minor in Public Relations from Kutztown University, Kutztown, Pennsylvania.
