She also assists in diagnosis and treatment planning. Her goal is to provide clinicians and patients with an understanding of cognitive functioning upon admission and as they progress through treatment.

She also facilitates group therapy, helping patients to understand addiction, trauma, and the role they play in health, well-being, and ability to function. Through group therapy, patients receive psychoeducation and are able to develop new behaviors, taking their first important steps toward a healthy recovery.

In 2023, Dr. Marullo joined Caron in this role, bringing more than 30 years of clinical experience, including 16 in addiction treatment centers as clinical director and therapist. As clinical director, she provided psychosocial evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, and referral. She also supervised therapists, case managers, behavioral health technicians, and office staff.

Her experience includes working with nursing home patients, providing brain training to slow the progression of Alzheimer’s disease. In her private practice, she treated older adults, adults, children, and adolescents with a wide range of issues, including trauma, depression, and anxiety, and conducted couples and family therapy.

She led the launch of an intensive outpatient program and has worked in detox units, primary hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient programs, and outpatient programs. The experience of seeing patients progress through different levels of care, getting stabilized, and then building a foundation for moving into healthy recovery has been one of the most rewarding aspects of her career.

Dr. Marullo is a licensed clinical psychologist with a Doctor of Psychology from Albizu University, Miami, Florida, a Master of Science from Barry University, Miami Shores, Florida, and a Bachelor of Science from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, Florida.
