Nicholas Gettel

He works with them beginning soon after they come into treatment to build relationships founded on trust and connection. In addition to talking with patients individually, Nick also facilitates groups that focus on recovery and the importance of continuing care. Helping the patients learn and understand the necessity of taking care of themselves and finding support throughout the recovery journey is what makes his job rewarding.

Another facet of his job is to guide parents through the treatment and aftercare process, explaining the importance of aftercare to a healthy recovery and providing information and recommendations for aftercare resources, from sober living to outpatient programs.

Nick also builds relationships with referents and staff at continuing care facilities and programs. With personal and professional experience with substance use disorder, Nick offers empathy and expertise to parents and family members to help them build a healthy, sustainable recovery for their loved one and the whole family.

Before taking on the role of continuing care specialist in 2023, Nick was an admissions specialist at Caron, a job he had for three and a half years. He is a certified allied addiction practitioner.
