Scott Schickel
BA, MFT
Pennsylvania
As a family therapist in the Men’s and Partial Hospitalization Programs, Scott Schickel provides a trusting and empathetic space for patients and their families to learn to accept and trust each other, with the ultimate goal of restoring relationships so that they are healthy and mutually supportive.
In addition to building trust and acceptance, Scott educates patients and families about how family history informs each person and family dynamics as a whole. He uses a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches and psychoeducation in his work.
Scott has been a therapist for almost 20 years, treating adults, adolescents, and children dealing with substance use disorder, mental health diagnoses, trauma, and co-occurring disorders. He has worked in residential treatment centers and outpatient treatment offices. This range of experience has given Scott expertise to deal with whatever issues and concerns patients and their families bring to him.
He has a Master of Family Therapy from St. Thomas University, Miami, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Florida International University, also in Miami.
