Seth George
BA, CAAP, CTP
Pennsylvania
Seth George works with patients in Caron’s women’s programs, including young adults and teens. He accompanies his patients through treatment, working with them to transform their experiences into a solid foundation for their recovery.
In this role, which he took on in 2024, Seth provides individual therapy, facilitates group therapy, and handles case management. He also communicates with the family so that they are updated on their loved one’s treatment. Education is a key component of his approach, helping patients and families understand that substance use disorder is a disease that requires treatment and lifelong attention.
Seth came to Caron in 2016, working for eight years as a mental health technician and then for a short time as a recovery advocate. As a mental health technician, he supported patients and assisted therapists by being present when patients had arising mental health needs. His role encompassed crisis intervention, psychoeducation, and group facilitation. That role helped Seth to better understand how to build rapport with patients, expand his flexibility to work with patients from a range of backgrounds and experiences, and address challenges as they came up.
Seth is a certified allied addiction professional (CAAP), certified trauma professional (CTP), and is certified in psychological first aid. He is in his last year of a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling program at Alvernia University, Reading, Pennsylvania. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Psychology from Penn State, Berks Campus.
