The heart of Shelley Fischer-Wylie’s job is employee engagement and morale, building relationships with employees and supervisors in order to ensure a healthy, happy workplace that fosters well-being and enhances Caron’s ability to carry out its mission. While she is located in Florida, her work extends across Caron as needed.
Shelley also focuses on employee benefits like the Family and Medical Leave Act, disability, workmen’s compensation, and the Employee Assistance Program and helps employees navigate health issues, difficult times, and emotional struggles. Shelley keeps an open door so people can come in to talk whenever they need to.
Since she came to Caron in 2010, Shelley has been in the Human Resources Department, starting her work as a quality management coordinator. She was promoted to senior HR business partner in 2015 and transitioned to her current role in 2024.
Previously, Shelley worked in human resources at several organizations, mostly in mission-driven organizations, including as vice president of HR at Goodwill Industries. Her experience taught her the importance of balancing employee morale and needs with business needs and goals and providing safety and transparency.
Shelley is a Society of Human Resources Management senior certified professional (SHRM-SCP). She has a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts, both in Psychology, from the University of Hartford, Connecticut.
