Susan Borelli

Addiction is a disease of the brain that can be passed on to our children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. As vice president of planned giving, Sue Borelli works with alumni and their families to help ensure Caron’s future so that the next generation of families who need Caron’s help receive it.
Sue also oversees the Chit Chat Society, Caron’s legacy program, and works with members of Caron’s Planned Giving and Endowment Council to identify opportunities to promote and celebrate legacy giving.
We have the most amazing families supporting Caron’s mission. Their passion and dedication are beyond compare. It’s a privilege to be part of the process that enables people to put their passion to work helping others."
Sue meets with individuals to hear what is important to them about their giving and keeps them up to date on Caron so they may match their philanthropic interests to specific Caron needs or activities. She also has the ability to work with a family’s circle of professionals, including financial planners, attorneys, and accountants to help maximize the impact of their philanthropic gift.
Our alumni have gone on to thrive in their recovery and become extremely successful. We want to look at opportunities for them to pass on that gift of recovery to the next generation but to do so in a way that provides potential tax savings to them and their families."
Sue is passionate about Caron’s mission, having experienced in her own family the devastation that substance use disorder can cause. Helping families to heal from loss and helping others to celebrate recovery through philanthropy is what makes her most proud of the work she does.
After seventeen years in higher education, Sue joined Caron’s development team in 2006. She has over 25 years of working in planned giving and is excited to develop a dedicated program at Caron.
Sue has a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and English Literature from Albright College, Reading, Pennsylvania, and a Master of Business Administration from Lebanon Valley College, Annville, Pennsylvania.
