Sue Constantine is a nurse practitioner at Caron Florida’s Keele Center, overseeing care for detox, older adult, and Ocean Drive patients staying in The Keele Center.
As the medical provider, she takes medical histories and does physical exams for new patients and monitors patients to ensure safe, comprehensive care. She makes referrals to other specialists so that patients receive necessary medical care for any physical conditions that require it.
Sue came to Caron in 2023 after working at another treatment facility for 17 years providing medical care for detox and other patients and offering medical education about post-acute withdrawal to medical care providers. She sees this work as her calling, ensuring patients' health so they can get the treatment they need.
Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Sue was a nurse in a Level 1 trauma center and was promoted to charge nurse, assistant nurse manager, and then nurse manager. Prior to that work, she was an RN with the Air Force Nurse Corps, rotating among units including orthopedics, medical surgery, ICU, and pediatrics. In addition to eight years at two U.S. Air Force bases, Sue served for three months in Operation Desert Storm, setting up a makeshift hospital in England to receive casualties.
Sue is a board-certified family nurse practitioner, an advanced registered nurse practitioner, and a registered nurse. She trained in advanced cardiovascular life support. Sue has a Master of Science in nursing – family practice from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton. and a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Rhode Island College, Providence.
