Theresa Lightbody

As nurse practitioner at Caron Renaissance, Theresa Lightbody works with other Caron medical staff to ensure patients’ physical health and take care of any medical issues they have while they are in treatment.

She meets with each Renaissance patient upon arrival so she can take the individual's medical history and learn about his/her medical needs.

Her overarching goal is to promote health and wellness. As needed, she educates patients so they are better able to take care of their health while in treatment and after they leave.

Theresa came to Caron in 2020 with nine years of experience in addiction medicine. She has a great interest in medical research in the field of addiction medicine and stays up to date on new developments that can save lives. She is an adult nurse practitioner-board certified with a Master of Science degree with a major in nursing and a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in nursing, both from Florida Atlantic University.

To see patients finally understand that staying healthy is critical and that they are able to take care of their medical needs, rather than ignore them or second guess how to take care of themselves, is the best part of this job.”
