As a Primary Therapist for Caron Florida’s Ocean Drive Program, Vanessa Brenner supports patients on their journey of recovery by providing individual therapy and facilitating group therapy.
Making use of her expertise and experience, she helps them examine their lives to gain insight and coping skills and better understand how substance use disorder and other co-occurring issues have impacted their lives.
Vanessa came to Caron in 2023, having worked in the addiction treatment field since 2011, most recently as the director of family services. She has served various populations, including adolescents, young men and women, older adult men and women, family members, and patients with mental health disorders. She is passionate about helping her patients achieve lasting sobriety.
Vanessa received her undergraduate degree from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. She has a Master of Science in counseling psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University, West Palm Beach, Florida. She is a licensed mental health counselor and qualified supervisor. Vanessa is trained in eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR), narrative exposure therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy. She has trained with Terrence Gorski in relapse prevention strategies and is currently training in psychodrama techniques to enrich patients’ group experience.
