Caron Board Member Benjamin J. Zintak III Honored with Volunteer Leadership Award by NAATP

Wernersville, PA – May 23, 2018 – Caron Treatment Centers, a leading and nationally recognized not-for-profit provider of addiction treatment and behavioral health services, is pleased to announce that Benjamin J. Zintak III, a member of Caron’s Board of Trustees, was honored this week by The National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers (NAATP) at its annual conference in Denver, Colorado. Zintak was recognized with the Jasper G. Chen See, M.D. Volunteer Leadership Award for exceptional volunteer leadership in the area of addiction treatment through board membership and philanthropy.

Zintak, a resident of Wyomissing Pennsylvania, is the Chair of the Open the Door Campaign for Caron. The campaign began in 2013 and has raised more than $65 million for scholarships, special programs and capital support. From this total, Caron raised more than $13 million to build the new Carole and Ray Neag Medical Center. The state-of-the-art facility, which opened in December, now serves as Caron’s welcome and admission center with 24-hour care and advanced addiction medicine capabilities.

Zintak joined the Caron Board of Trustees in 1995 and served as Chairman of the Board from 2006 to 2009 and then again in 2012 to 2014. His extensive involvement carries on the family legacy from when his uncle, Dick Caron, founded the not-for-profit more than 60 years ago.

In addition to his unsurpassed commitment to Caron, he has also served in volunteer roles for Alvernia University, Reading Hospital (now Tower Health), and the United Way of Berks County.
