Caron Treatment Centers Announces 2019 Corporate Board Appointments

Leading addiction treatment non-for-profit confirms 2019 board appointments

Wernersville, PA. July 9, 2019Caron Treatment Centers, a leading, nationally and internationally recognized not-for-profit dedicated to addiction and behavioral healthcare treatment, research, prevention and medical education, has appointed two new board members to its Corporate Board of Trustees.

At the recent annual meeting for Caron, Steve Wall, Managing Partner at Morgan Lewis and Chairperson of Caron’s Corporate Board of Trustees, announced that Douglas Dick and Marguerite Schroeder would begin their board terms on July 1st. In addition, Steve announced that Beth Fitzsimons stepped down after completing four terms (12 years) on the Board of Trustees.

As Beth departs the board, I also want to thank her for years of service as Chair of the Human Resources Committee and for her ongoing commitment to Caron.”

Douglas and his wife Laura, who reside in both Pennsylvania and Florida, have consistently supported Caron for more than six years. Douglas is an active member of Caron’s Florida Advisory Board. He is the owner of Dick Construction based in Pittsburgh and has served on multiple boards including the Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital. Marguerite, who resides in Marlton, New Jersey, is the new chair of the Greater Philadelphia Regional Advisory Board. As a Caron alum, volunteer, and Chit Chat Society member, she also serves on the Planning and Endowment and Development Committees. A former public educator, she is currently a lawyer with the New Jersey Education Association in the Organizational Development Division, Executive Office.

Dr. Thomas Flynn, who recently retired as the President of Alvernia University, will take over as Vice-Chair of the Board and oversee the Treatment Committee. Andi Funk, Vice President of Finance – Americas for EnerSys will succeed Beth as Chair of the Human Resources Committee. Lastly, Steve Wall, after serving two consecutive years, will continue to serve in a third year as Chairperson of Caron’s Corporate Board of Trustees.
